Ann Curry
Ann Curry was born in the United States and is a photographer and journalist. For more than forty-five years, she has concentrated on documenting human suffering, primarily in natural disasters and wars. Curry has reported on wars around the globe, including Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, born November 19 1956 (Agana) was an American journalist who worked as anchor of a newscast on TV. Curry was well-known for her coverage of natural disasters and humanitarian crises which occurred in war-ravaged areas. Curry was the child of an U.S. Navy sailor and a Japanese woman. In the aftermath of World War II, her parents came together during her father's service in Japan. Because of her father's military duty, the family travelled often. Curry finished her high school studies within Ashland Oregon. Curry graduated in 1978 with the degree of Bachelor's in Journalism at the University of Oregon. It's possible that her experiences with different cultures as well as her life experiences has shaped the way she communicates about international problems. She was the first female news reporter at the station at the age of 22. Following that, she went onto becoming an anchor and reporter for KGW KGW, which was an NBC affiliate station in Portland. The following year, she relocated into Los Angeles as a reporter for KBS-TV. It was during her association with this channel for the duration of six years that she won two Emmy Awards.
